Accommodation & Dining Hotels The Villiers Hotel www.villiershotels,com Our guests will stay in the north of the county of Buckinghamshire, some 45 miles north of London, in the historic town of Buckingham. The Villiers Hotel has a history stretching back to the days of Cromwell and the English Civil War. Its elegant restaurant, Henry’s, has been awarded two rosettes by the AA for exceptional food. Opening off the cobbled courtyard, the Swan and Castle bar has a flagstone floor and oak panelling, and traditional cask ales and lighter meals can be taken. Once the main coaching inn of the town, stabling 150 horses, it has retained much of its historic character. The lounge is beautifully decorated with comfortable sofas to relax in style and the standards of service are excellent. Rooms (bed and breakfast) are individually designed and there are air-conditioned galleried suites available. The facilities of a local health club are available to guests. The town has a popular centre with a variety of shops, restaurants, a museum and parks, all within a short walk of the hotel. Buckingham is surrounded by smaller villages of interest, providing a flavour of English rural life. The Buckingham Beales Hotel www.bealeshotels.co.uk Our alternative hotel is the Buckingham Beales, located on the ring road. It is a modern hotel associated with the Best Western group. It has its own leisure club, available free to guests, with a 40ft swimming pool, Jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, gyms and solarium. Many of its rooms are reserved for non-smokers, and connecting rooms are available. The hotel restaurant serves a variety of light and full meals, and half board arrangements can be made for guests who prefer to have dinner in the hotel. Our guests wish to see England, relax and enjoy the whole experience. We are not ‘on the road’ too much in any one day. Our base is a convenient centre, within easy reach of our Tudor visits, so that we don't have to drive you for too long, or too far! Dining Tudor Tours guests enjoy fine lunches in traditional or elegant inns and restaurants. Here we give a flavour of what to expect. The White Hart Inn, Winchcombe www.the-white-hart-inn.com In the ancient Saxon town of Winchcombe, once the capital of the kingdom of Mercia, the 16th century White Hart Inn provides traditional and modern English fine food in relaxed surroundings, either in the beamed pub bar or in the brasserie restaurant. The inn also serves Scandinavian food! The Old White Hart, Lyddington www.oldwhitehart.co.uk The charming and attractive Old White Hart is set among the sandstone cottages in the village of Lyddington. This 17th century building has retained its original beamed ceilings, stone walls and open fires, and is surrounded by well-stocked gardens. Lunches can be taken in the elegant restaurant or traditional bar. The Saxon Mill, Warwick www.saxonmill.co.uk The Saxon Mill has an open plan, stylish interior on two floors featuring open kitchen, stone fired ovens and log burning fires.
